GERRY WARE (Music, Book & Lyrics)
Gerry’s musical career began as a boy soprano, first performing in Kovanschina at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. He then went on to learn the guitar and performed in bands as a rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist. His guitar playing embraces all styles - blues, folk, pop, jazz, rock and a little flamenco.
From the late eighties Gerry became more involved with the creative side of music and his composing and song writing career began. His first album of instrumental music was released in 1992 and since then he has been involved in many musical projects including writing songs for solo singers and choirs, radio jingles and backing music for children’s stories. Although not able to read or write the musical score, he composed a four-movement symphony, which was first aired on radio stations in the UK and more recently overseas. He has written songs for Connie Fisher (Maria in The Sound of Music), one of which she recorded and performed for Children in Need.

Living in Cyprus for the last few years, Gerry’s musical and writing career continues to flourish. He is working with an internationally known singer, writing and producing an album as well as composing another of his own instrumental albums. He is also performing again and is in demand as a guitarist, playing in various venues. Always looking for a challenge he has turned his hand to writing books and his first novel is nearing completion.

During the last couple of years Gerry has been spending time on developing his full-scale musical play, 1888 and is looking forward to its World Premier at the Union Theatre in London this June.

JANETTE WILLIAMS (Drums)
Born in Manchester in 1984, both my parents were musicians and continued to gig after I was born … so I’m pretty familiar with being a roadie. My dad is a private drum tutor so I guess really I was only ever going to be a drummer. I passed my grade 8 Rockschool at 15 and became a Drumsense teacher alongside Colin Woolway at 16. I set up my own teaching studio in Mid Wales whilst I was studying for my degree with the Open University. I studied Law with the firm belief that everyone should know their rights and be able to write a really good letter of complaint, and then I moved to London in 2006 after I completed my degree to study full time at Drumtech. I’ve been lucky enough to play at the NEC, Rock and pop festival and also at the Royal Welsh Show and since moving to London I’ve done sessions for Universal and iFFy records at Abbey Road and Church studios Islington. I have played stages at Glastonbury and WOMAD, the London Marathon, the FA Cup final at Wembley stadium, the F1 Maclaren party out in Abu Dhabi, the Karate Kid Premiere and been on tour in Japan as part of the Taiko Meantime Japanese drum group. I also shot ‘The Great Park Drum Off’ for the Lexus commercial featuring Kylie Minogue, which came out this year (2011.)I also play\alongside Travis Marc (Zildjian/Vater/Aquarian endorsed) and Lisa Gordon (Girls Aloud and STOMP, Zikdjian endorsed) as part of the iGrooves trio. Alongside drum kit I play the piano (grade 5 in jazz, classical and rockschool grades) and also Japanese Taiko drums and I compose, write scores and record for short films (most recently the Reed short film competition).
